Stolen mobiles in Tabrez Ansari mob lynching case recovered, one arrested

Seraikela, Jan 5: Seraikela police have managed to nab Arif Ansari a resident of Kadamdiha village under Kharsawan police station for possessing two stolen mobiles which were stolen from the house in Dhatkidih under Seraikela police station area in June 2019.

The case had hogged limelight in the national arena after one of the theft accused Mohammed Tabrez Ansari was brutally beaten by a mob and died while in police custody at Seraikela few days later.

The accused Arif Ansari had already been to jail on several occasions for trying to sell stolen mobiles.

Investigating officer and Seraikela thana officer-in-charge, Sanoj Kumar Choudhary informed that they had put the two mobiles stolen from the residence of Hemsagar Pradhan and Rajesh Pramanik under surveillance since June 17, 2019 and as soon as the mobile was switched on they took the IMEI location and traced it to Arif’s residence and arrested the accused.
