Jamshedpur, Dec. 2: In order to repair, reinforce, modernize and construct new godowns, the Jharkhand State Food Corporation will seek help from National Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD).
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting presided over by the State Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs minister Saryu Roy in Ranchi on Wednesday.
NABARD chief general manager S Mandal informed the meeting that there are two schemes under the NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance Board and the state government can collaborate with them in any one.
Aside from protecting the foodgrains produced by farmers in the warehouses, NABARD will also provide consultation.
The meeting was attended by State Food Corporation MD Baleshwar Singh, special secretary Raviaranjan, and S K Bathwal among others.
