State Police gears up to recruit 10,000 policemen�

Jamshedpur : Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar has said that the State Police will recruitment 10,000 policemen and officers to further enhance the policing in Jharkhand.

Talking to the newsmen, he said of the 10,000 policemen to be recruited will be constable and police officer rank.
�Earlier the recruitment used to be held on the physical test but from now first the candidates will have to appear in the written exam after which those selected will have to go physical test,� informed the DGP.

He said that the police and para-military forces have worked tremendously to curb the�Naxalactivities in�naxal-infested areas. �

�Operation against naxalites were carried out effectively and in bordering areas particularly with Bengal and we need to be more vigilant on our side,� he noted. Kumar also informed that plans are to establish a permanent police camp at Saranda area.

�We have no dearth in the resources to combat the naxalism here.� Moreover, we have succeeded to curb this problem to a great extent, but we are determined to take rest only after eliminating the Maoist rebels from here,” said Kumar.

He pointed out that the Chief Minister Raghubar Das also has taken a very strong stand against the naxalism which is a major hindrance on the way of the state’s development.

He said that plans are to deploy more forces in the Naxal infested areas to flush out the ultras.�

Another senior police official present on the occasion, said: “I do not claim that Maoist activities have been cleaned up in the state.

The situation has improved to a great extent as we have been able to contain them”.��He urged the policemen to remain alert as the rebel outfits reply more on guerrilla tactics and can attack anywhere.�
