Ranchi, August 3: In a review committee�s meeting the food distribution & consumer affairs Minister Saryu Rai decided to adopt the reverse auction process for procurement of salt and sugar for the commons.
The process would prove useful both for the common people as well as the state. The meeting discussed options to be undertaken to carry out the process and contacting institutions like the National Commodity Exchange for suggestions in this regard.
The minister also directed the secretary of department to initiate the programme procedures as soon as possible. The meeting also saw the presence of secretary Vinay Kr. Choubey, Special secretary Ravi Ranjan, additional secretary Basant Kr. Das and state�s FCI director Baleshwar Singh.
The meeting also discussed the matter of lacking manpower in the food department. Rai after the meeting ordered immediate recruitment of officials into the department.
It was also found that in exception to some districts, the rest of the state has seen remarkable progress in the implementation of the food security law. Rai assured the people of putting his best efforts for the common good.
