Jamshedpur, Dec. 7: State BJP president Deepak Prakash on Monday alleged that the State Government has failed to check illegal mining in the state. Addressing a press meet at Tulsi Bhawan, Prakash on his fifth day of Kolhan tour said that due to illegal mining of sand and iron ores, the State is incurring heavy loss of revenue. This has also led to large scale unemployment in mining areas.

Prakash, who is also Rajya Sabha member, was addressing the media soon after the organisational and introductory meeting of the newly formed District Working Committee at Jamshedpur, Tulsi Bhawan.

“It is really surprising that despite revenue loss, the Government is not taking any step to curb rampant illegal mining. Even black-marketing of sand is at its peak. Mining mafias and middlemen are illegally carrying mining and selling it at high cost. The mafias have the protection of the government,” said the state president.

He also said that the current Hemant government is anti-tribal, anti-labour, anti-women and the most anti-development government. It has snatched employment instead of giving employment during one year of his tenure.

The senior leader also said that more than 1300 rape incidents have taken place in his one year during tenure of Hemant’s Government. This only goes to show that the Government is not concerned about the safety of women.

He further said that to unravel the failed Hemant government on all issues, soon the BJP will issue a charge sheet,

Talking about the Farmers Bill brought by the Modi government at the Center he said bill will give the farmers better income of their hard work. The Swaminathan report has been implemented by the Modi government.

While addressing the party workers, he appealed to the workers to be organizationally strong from the booth level to the district level. He also directed to make public welfare schemes of the Modi government accessible to the people and to benefit them.

On the completion of its first year in power, the State BJP unit has decided to start agitation across the State against the Hemant Soren led government stating that people feel cheated as the government failed to fulfill its promises.

Former state president Dr Dineshanand Goswami also addressed the meeting. Later, two-minute silence was observed for the peace of departed BJP workers. Earlier, women activists of BJP traditionally welcomed party leaders and activists. General Secretaries Anil Modi and Rakesh Singh anchored the meet.
