Sinam Basus dance performances amuses Hill Top students


    Jamshedpur, April 13:  Hill Top School, Telco hosted Manipuri Dance under the aegis of Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPICMACAY) at the school premises on Monday, April 13.

    The programme started with brief introduction of the artists by one of the students. He said that Sinam Basu Singh is a dedicated, versatile and promising young exponent of Manipuri dancer who hail from the state of Manipur. A grandson of Maestro Meitei Pung (Manipuri Classical Drum) player late Shri Sinam Bokul Singh.

    The artists presented “Dhol Chowlum” a beautiful dance performance performed by the artists which the students enjoyed. The performance received much praise from the young audience who were thrilled and spell bound to get a taste of impeccable performance. This was followed by a wonderful solo performance “Shiv Stuti”.

    “Pung Chaulum” a group dance was the next performance which amused the students. The next dance performance was “Basant Ras” , which everybody really enjoyed. It was amazing to see the artists perform with so much enthusiasm. The students cheered them as they performed and they felt enriched by their presentation. A mesmerizing dance performance kept the audience glued to their place The event ended with the school song.

    Sinam Basu’s troupe including him consists of 15 members S Anta Devi, H. Bidyarani Devi, R K Suhini Devi, R.K Elizabeth Devi, Sarja Devi, Y. Bidyananda Singh, M Anil Singh, M Priyobrata Singh, A Ananda Singh, L Rojit Kumar Singh, Rahul Nongthombam, O Bronson Meitei, K. Nilachandra Sharma and T Biswarjit Singh.
