Shirdi set to become smart city

Jamshedpur, July 28: In order to make Shirdi city a smart city for the Samadhi Shatabdi Mahotsav of Shree Saibaba and to install CCTV cameras in various places in the city, Maharashtra government is planning to create and execute the project through appropriate information and technical assistance, Principal Secretary, Department of Information and Technology, Government of Maharashtra Jyoti Gautam said here today.

A review meeting of Shri Saibaba Samadhi Centenary Action Plan Committee was held on 06 July last. At the meeting, instructions were given to the Sai Baba Institute and Shirdi city to implement the CCTV project, Government Information and Technology Department. Accordingly, Gautam was speaking at a meeting organized at the institute’s hall. On this occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute Rubal Agarwal, District Superintendent of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy District Collector Dhananjay Nikam, Manoj Ghodepatil, OSD Kaustubh Rao of Chief Minister’s
Office, Sunil Chandran, Information and Technology Officer, Additional Superintendent of Police Rohidas Pawar, Sub-Divisional Officer, Ravindra Thakre, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sagar Patil, Nagrachandhana, Suyogitatai Shelke, Suburban Jagannath Gondkar, Chief Officer Yashwant Dange and Police Inspector Pratap Ingale were also present. Initially Deputy District Magistrate Manoj Horse did the introductory speech.

Vijay Gautam, Principal Secretary, Department of Information and Technology, said, “In order to update CCTV, security and sound and audio systems, the institute needs to create a high quality defense system using IT network. In Shirdi, it is necessary for the seekers to try to provide high quality online facility through information technology. The hospital of the institution must have high quality software. Shri Saibaba Institute, Shirdi Nagar Panchayat, Shirdi Police Station and the villagers should work together. The entire technical advice in respect of CCTV and IT to the institute is given by the Government.

On this occasion, Agarwal said the Shri Saibaba Institute Trust (Shirdi) will be celebrating Shri Saibaba Samadhi centenary festival from 01 October, 2017 to 18 October 2018.

Considering the potential crowds on the occasion of this Samadhi Centenary Festival, Shirdi Smart City has to be built to protect the temple and Shirdi town. On this occasion, Shirdi Smart City’s primary discussion has been arranged today, said Agrawal, that more than 100 criminals have been arrested through the CCTV of Sri Saibaba Sansthan.

Sunil Chandran, Technical Technical Architect of the Government, has visited all the departments of the institute to get information about the roads in the city and submit the report to the project. Thanking the Institute’s Deputy Executive Officer Dr. Sandeep Aher said.
