Jamshedpur: South Eastern Railway zone authorities have sent the general arrangement drawing of the road over bridge proposed to be built at Jugsalai railway level crossing to the Jharkhand government for approval. Once the approval is given, the same would be sent to the Railway Board for its final nod.
Thereafter, tenders would be floated for the construction work. This was informed by the MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato who met the general manager of South Eastern Railway zone on Monday at the Garden Reach-based zonal headquarters.
Mahato visited the zonal railway headquarters in connection with the proposed ROB project and also discussed other railway projects and issues with the SER zonal GM. He proposed to run some of the trains plying via Chandrapura to go through Tatanagar. The trains include Ranchi-Dumka Inter City Express and Ranchi-Jainagar train. Railways stopped several train services through Chandrapura a few days back in view of the dangerous mine fire in Jharia-Dhanbad region.
Mahato also apprised the GM about the lack of basic amenities at Tatanagar railway station and its premises.
He further sought the Railway’s response through the GM over his proposal to allow Tata Steel to maintain Tatanagar railway station. The GM said if such proposal came, a positive decision could be taken on the same, said the MP.
