Jamshedpur, May 15: A delegation of Sahara India Pariwar members from Chaibasa and Chakradharpur met Union Minister Arjun Munda in Kharsawan on Sunday and handed him a memorandum seeking a resolution of the Sahara-SEBI dispute.

The delegation members met Munda on the latter’s arrival at Raja Bari in Kharsawan. They informed the Union Minister about the 12 year-old dispute and the problems being faced by the investors and Sahara workers. They said Sahara India had deposited a sum of around Rs 24,000 crore with the SEBI following the directive of the Supreme Court in the year 2012. But SEBI has so far made a payment of just Rs 150 crore to the investors, said the Sahara Pariwar members.

The members said if SEBI pays the remaining amount, it would be easier for Sahara to return money to its investors. Due to delay in payment by SEBI, the Sahara workers are facing a tough time and slump in business, said the members.

Munda assured the delegation members of taking up the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure speedy resolution of the dispute and justice for all investors and Sahara workers.
