Ranchi, Oct. 26: The state government is all set to spend Rs 3400 crore to construct Dhanbad�Ranchi�Jamshedpur Expressway, informed Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma while reviewing the Road Construction Department work on Wednesday.
Verma directed the road construction department officials to submit estimated expenses along with related proposals so that high level decisions could be taken regarding road construction projects on a speedy basis.
The CS said that the road construction work should be sped up and quality work should be ensured. No slackness will be tolerated in this regard. She said that the under construction projects whose work was in the last phase should be connected with linking roads.
Footpath, crash barrier, signal and water disposal system should be completed in time. The roads whose work is incomplete because of not getting environment dept. approval should be uploaded in a week. She also directed to complete the Panam flyover by 15th November and minor bridges by 30th November.
Verma said that under utility shifting plan, electric poles, tube-wells, and water pipeline are to be shifted. Hence, Energy Department and Drinking water and Sanitation Department should be contacted for the purpose.
It should be noted that 1294 electric poles, 117 hand�pumps and 525 meter water supply pipe line will be shifted. She said that departmental weekly review of the schemes under the State Highway Authority of Jharkhand (SHAJ) should be done and its quality should be ensured.
It was told by the department officials that 18 schemes are being implemented by the SHAJ. Almost 80 per cent of the work has been completed. JARDP has prepared Rs 300 crore DPR for Ranchi Muri road.
Tenders have been floated and technical approval for the Rs 310 crore project on Nonihat-Kerbani-Bagdaha Road has been given.
Road Construction Secretary Surendra Singh Meena and many engineers were present in the meeting.
