Jamshedpur, July 13: On the occasion of World Population Day, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Femina organized an awareness program for women at Kalindi Bhawan in Baridih on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pushpa Tiwary from Tata Steel Family Initiative Foundation informed the importance of small family to women and said having two children is good for a happy family.

She further said having small family means less expenditure, which would bring happiness in life. On the contrary, if one has a big family then it becomes difficult to earn a living with sincerity. Dr. Tiwary also made the women aware of several government schemes.

Dr. Pushpa Tiwary urged the women not to indulge in child marriage as it stops physical and mental development of the boy and the girl and becoming a mother at very early age has adverse effect on the health of a girl. She also appealed the mothers not to discriminate between a boy and a girl.

Women of the busti were informed about various government schemes especially about family planning as government provides money for health benefits during the program.

Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Femina president Pritha Gupta, Rashmi Singh, Naveeta Sablok, Neha Agarwal, Seema, Sonal, Sweta Jalan, Geeta Dubey and other club members were present at the event.
