Robbers loot Rs 10 lakh from traders house in Bagbera Colony


    Jamshedpur: Unidentified armed robbers looted cash worth over Rs 10 lakh from the house of one Ashok Sharma, a grocery shop owner, at Road Number 1 under Bagbera police station area late Sunday night.

    Sources said the culprits, three in number, entered the house of the trader around 2 am by breaking the latch of the door in the backyard. Before Sharma could do anything, the accused persons woke him up and tried to throttle him.

    The culprits attacked Sharma with the butt of a pistol and tied him up with the bedstead. Threatening to shoot Sharma, the culprits, broke open two safes and looted all cash kept inside. The culprits counted all the notes in front of Sharma and escaped from the front gate, police said.

    Sharma said he had kept the money in his house to pay the debts of creditors. He said he had lost all his savings.

    Many senior police officials visited Bagbera to probe the robbery. SSP Anoop Birtharay said efforts were on to nab the culprits.

    Police detained four staff of Sharma’s shop in connection with the robbery.
