Jamshedpur, Jan. 11: As per the guidelines of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India and National Safety Council, Road Safety Week 2016 celebrations kicked off at Tata Motors and TML Drivelines on January 11 and will continue till January 17. Theme for the year is �Road Safety: Time for Action�
The safety week was flagged off by A B Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors. The flag off also activated the road safety awareness rally for the township, starting from the works gate .
Motto of the rally was to spread road safety tips among residents of Telco colony. During the event, pamphlets containing road safety guidelines were distributed to enhance the awareness among residents on how to be safe on roads. At the event road safety oath was also taken by employees followed by signature campaign on pledge board for following road safety rules.
Banners and hoardings on road safety theme has been displayed across works and the township. Events lined up for the week include online quiz and poster competition for employees, road safety training for drivers, health checkup for drivers, defensive driving training and road safety Training followed by quiz competition for school students .
