Reservation roster made essential in contractual appointment

Ranchi, May 11: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday directed all departments of government to abide by the state reservation roster and follow provisions regarding identification and definition of local residents strictly in the contractual appointment for the state.

According to the direction of the CM, Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Departments have been issued directives in this regard. The Personnel Department has decided to follow the provisions regarding state reservation roster in all contractual appointments.

Moreover, the provisions fixed by personnel department regarding identification and definition of local resident will be mandatory in all such appointments.

The Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Departments of the Government of Jharkhand have abolished the provision of interview in the appointment against junior posts.

Different departments have been instructed not to conduct interview for the various contractual appointments for the government in future. Written/ efficiency examinations can be conducted as per convenience.

In case appointment against a particular post becomes very essential, it can be done by taking prior permission from the Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Departments.

It was also directed that all contractual appointments should be done for a specified target and fixed period. It has been directed to do such appointments for three years which can be extended for maximum five years on the individual evaluation of the contract person.

In case such appointments are required even after five years, the appointment process against the supposed post will be initiated anew.
