Red Cross Day at Chaibasa

Chaibasa, May 8: The Indian Red Cross Society, Chaibasa, observed the International Red Cross Day at Saint Vivekananda English Medium School, Gandhi Tola, by organizing a free health check-up and blood donation camp under the aegis of D R Shah Foundation on Sunday.

Dr Soumya Sen Gupta examined 235 patients and 34 people were registered to donate their blood. In addition, 32 children received Hepatitis A and B vaccinations at the camp.

The chief guest on the occasion, MP Laxaman Gilua said that the Red Cross Society does commendable jobs, but such type of camp should also be organized in remote areas where underprivileged people can be benefitted.

Chaibasa Red Cross Society secretary Kanaihya Lal Agrwal said that the importance of blood donation is increasing day by day as blood cannot be produced artificially. �We are running a nice blood bank with proper care at Chaibasa and 5300 people donated blood previous year.�

Those present at the event included Rajesh Agrawal, Vikas Dodrajka, Arun Goel, Janhagir Alam, Vishnu Bhut, Saket Goel, and Tapan Kumar Roy.
