Raghubar asks SAIL to speed up CSR works in Jharkhand


    Ranchi, March 6: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today asked the officials of the Steel Authority of India Limited to speed up its CSR-related works in the state.
    In a meeting with the officials of the SAIL at the project building, he said the company was extending cooperation in social work area as per the norms set up by the state government which was proving to be very useful in the progress of the state.
    Das instructed the company that it should hand over the surplus land owned by it back to the state government so that the same could be used for other development works and also suggested that such buildings of SAIL which are currently not being used for any purpose be also transferred to the state government so that skill development centres can be set up where the locals can be provided skill development training and link with jobs.
    Das said that the company should also give prominence to local industries while making purchase for its use so that local industries and workers can be benefitted. The meeting was attended by Industries Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, SAIL Chairman P K Singh and other officials.
