Jamshedpur, Dec. 26: Professor Hassan Imam Varsi, HOD of Chemistry department at Karim City College passed away at his home in Varis colony, Road No. 1, Azadnagar at 12.30 am on Monday.
He was 59-years-old. Professor Varsi is survived by two sons Yusuf Imam Warsi and Khusru Imam Warsi and a daughter.
He was associated with several social organisations including trustee member of Madina Masjid in Azadnagar, founder member of Azadnagar Police Station shanti samiti, founder member of Public Welfare Urdu School and founder member of Taiyabah Masjid and Varis colony welfare samiti.
His last rites were performed at Zakirnagar mausoleum on Monday after the prayers at Taiyiba masjid. On the occasion large number of intellectuals, social workers, educationalists along with students from various city colleges were present.
