Jamshedpur: Chaos took over MGM Hospital on Wednesday after several hospital employees allegedly assaulted a private ambulance driver for reportedly demanding bribe from the relatives of a deceased patient. The employees also allegedly took the ambulance driver hostage for several hours while accusing him of harassing patients and their relatives.
Sakchi police reached the scene and tried to pacify the hospital employees. They rescued the ambulance driver who was locked up on the hospital premises, sources said.
The driver said he was assaulted by the hospital staff when he was about to take a corpse in the ambulance.
Police officials said they were probing the case.
