President Pranab Mukherjee to visit Jharkhand on 2nd April

Ranchi: President Pranab Mukherjee will visit the temple town of Deoghar and the site of erstwhile Vikramshila University in Bhagalpur in Bihar on April 2 and 3 respectively, sources said.

On his arrival in Deoghar, the President will offer puja at Baidyanath Dham temple, before inaugurating the solar light project along the 44 km stretch between Deoghar and Basukinath, in Dumka district.

Mukherjee will also lay the foundation stone of the highly ambitious centre of Software and Technology Park of India (STPI) at Jasidih, apart from the laying the foundation of a hospital of Employees state insurance corporation at Karon block of Deoghar district.

The President will also inaugurate a Heavy Vehicle Training Centre in Deoghar and Godda. This was informed here on Saturday by the Minister of State, Skill Development, Sports and Youth Affairs, Rajeev Pratap Rudy during a meeting convened to review the works of the Skill Development Department in the state. He said the proposed heavy vehicle training centre will generate employment opportunities and create skilled drivers.

Also present at the meeting, the Principal Secretary to the CM, Sanjay Kumar, said that land had been made available for the purpose in 17 districts so far. Within a month, the remaining seven districts will earmark land for setting up the heavy vehicle training centre.
