Jamshedpur: Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda today condoled the death of 13 coal mine workers in the open cast mine at Lalmatia in Godda.

He said the incident was unfortunate and should have been prevented through precautionary measures by the authorities concerned.

Speaking to scribes at Vasundhara Estate, NH33, while attending the Bhagvat Katha programme, Munda said, The coal mining companies should make sure that they stick to highest level of security measures to prevent such tragic incidents. The lives of coal miners are valuable and should not be lost just like that.

Munda demanded adequate compensation for the victims of the cave-in incident in Godda. He said action should be taken against those guilty of negligence.
