Police yet to unfold mystery, study call details of cell phone

Jamshedpur, August 2: Though 36 hours have passed since the real estate developer Ram Sakal Yadav was shot dead, the Jamshedpur police are yet to crack the murder mystery.

Yadav was murdered at Jubilee Park in Bistupur early on the Saturday morning. One of the named accused in the case has been arrested but the police have not been able to unfold the mystery behind the murder nor identified the assailants involved in the case.

The victim Ramsakal Prasad along with a friend went to the Park for morning walk when four unidentified assailants stopped him near the park gate and shot at him, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jacinta Kerketta said. As the news spread the police team led by Kerketta reached the spot.

Prasad was rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Prasad, a resident of Bagbera, was a contractor engaged in construction sector in Odisha as well as Jamshedpur. He also worked as partner in Yaraana bus service.�

City SP Chandan Jha said that the shooting incident has been captured in CCTV and they are studying the footage. The police have taken a few persons into custody and are interrogating the suspects. They are hopeful to crack the murder mystery. However, he also informed that the footage of CCTV is not cleared and two of the shooters are hiding their faces.�

Senior superintendent of police, Anoop T Mathew informed that they have arrested one of the named accused, Vicky Tapadia in the case.

Yadav’s wife has lodged the FIR. Sources also informed that the victim had talked to her wife and had informed about the incident. “We asked her to lodged the FIR in which she has mentioned about the dispute between her husband and Tapadia,” the senior SP said.

According to the FIR, Yadav had a transport business beside the construction business in Jharkhand and Odisha. “Like Yadav Tapadia too has a construction business in which Yadav was a partner.�

Superintendent of police (city) Chandan Jha, who is also looking after the murder investigation said though two of the four assailants had not covered their face, the face of the two is not very clear.�

Jha said they are procuring the call details records (CDR) of Yadav’s cell-phone so that they may get some more information.

According to sources, Yadav was due to get about Rs 3 crores form Tapadia with whom he had a partnership in the construction business in Jamshedpur.

Due to the non-payment of the dues, they had developed business enmity.

Jubilee Park is a point where a large number of men and women used to come for walking in the morning and also in the evening.

Though some policemen remain posted and at the park, but the incident has provoked fear among the people as they say that the area is now unsafe at this early hours of the day.

� People are not willing to move out either in the early morning or evening. The incident has instilled fear among us, I know things will be all right and situation will be under control but as of now we are scared to move out,� said a resident of B H Area.
