Jamshedpur: Bistupur police on Wednesday launched a campaign to drive out unmarried couples from Jubilee Park. Several couples were caught by the police patrol team on charges of indecent public behavior.

Leading the team, the officer in-charge of Bistupur PS Srinivas warned the couples against creating indecent scenes in the park. Several couples were released with a warning.

No sooner did the police arrive in the park, many couples ran away fearing prosecution. Some of them apologized to the cops and promised to keep away from the park.

Cops also punished several male partners by making them do sit-ups. They said they had received complaints about couples causing inconvenience to the people with their indecent behaviour in the park.
