BJP celebrates death anniversary of its ideologue as Smriti Diwas

Jamshedpur, June 23: Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated the death anniversary of the party ideologue Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee as ‘Smriti Diwas’ here on Thursday. A programme was organized on this occasion at the party office in Sakchi on Thursday.
BJP national vice president and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and MP Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato were present along with other party leaders.
In his address, Das said Dr Mukherjee had laid the foundation for the inclusion of Jammu and Kashmir in the national mainstream by opposing Article 370 and Article 35A. Dr Mukherjee had put in great effort in uniting the country and reviving the national consciousness in the citizens.
“Today we are celebrating the sacrifice day of Dr Mukherjee. We all must make endeavour to motivate and inspire our succeeding generations by instilling the values and thoughts nurtured by this great leader,” said Das.
Das said Dr Mukherjee was a dedicated nationalist leader whose dream is being fulfilled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through abolition of Article 370 and Article 35A and many other bold decisions,” said the ex-CM.
The Jamshedpur MP, in his address, said the Modi government had implemented many thoughts and ideas of Dr Mukherjee. “The government led by PM Modi is uniting the entire nation through the slogan ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. Ending special status of Jammu and Kashmir three years back has paved the way for the fast progress of the state,” he said.
Gunjan Yadav and other party leaders too, remembered Dr Mukherjee and his thoughts and took a pledge to follow in his footsteps. Smriti Diwas was celebrated today by various Mandal units of BJP across East Singhbhum.
