Ranchi: Principal Secretary of Personnel Department Nidhi Khare today ordered a departmental inquiry into allegations regarding demand for khatiyan for issuance of domicile certificate in the state. She issued the orders on the basis of a news report published today in this regard in a Hindi daily.
Sources said that during a departmental inquiry, it was found that an applicant, Jeevlal Munda, a retired government teacher, had not submitted online application for domicile certificate. The circle office concerned had asked Munda to submit the application online through the Pragya Kendra.
Taking measures to resolve the issue, the deputy secretary of the department concerned got Munda�s application filed online by coordinating with the Pragya Kendra. Munda will be issued a domicile certificate by the SDO of Ranchi, sources said.
Khare said the state government had already laid down the definition and identity of domicile residents of Jharkhand. A local resident fulfilling any one of the six conditions laid down for a person to be held as a domicile of the state will be considered a domicile and consequently be entitled to get a certificate to that effect, she said.
