Perform or perish: DCs message to health and welfare staff

Jamshedpur, June 2: The deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar on Friday asked the officials of various government departments to get ready and achieve the targets set for the next month.

He said the anganbaris were given several important targets in connection with immunization, institutional delivery and malnutrition of children and women.

Addressing a meeting convened in the Zila Parishad auditorium to review work under the National Rural Health Mission, Kumar warned health department officials and staff against slackness in immunization work.

He said the Sevikas and Sahayikas failing to achieve the immunization target cent per cent would be removed from job immediately. He also said that department action would be initiated against the supervisors concerned for failing to achieve the target fixed by the department.

He said the worst 50 anganbaris should be identified for necessary action.

The DC directed the authorities concerned to ensure Aadhar registration of newborn babies. He sought explanation from all supervisors for the low rate of Aadhar-linking. He also warned Aadhar agencies of action for failing to work effectively.

Kumar said that those Sevikas and Sahayikas who had furnished fabricated reports about toilet construction in their panchayats should be immediately suspended. He further said that good performers would be rewarded.
