People’s support can help overcome crime in the district: SP

Jamshedpur, Feb. 23: People’s support is imperative to overcome the crime in the region and the locals of the area instead of providing shelter to the criminals they should come together to compete with them.

The residents should also not hesitate to inform the whereabouts of the criminals, said Rakesh Bansal, SP of Seraikela while addressing the Police-Public meeting at Durga Puja Ground in Chotta Gamharia on Thursday. SP was of the opinion that the Police administration has become hollow this is the reason why people have to come all the way to SP for any issue.

There is need to improve the structure so that police station in-charge can only solve the issues of the people and they don’t have to come all the way to the SP. He also gave directives to help make the district crime free and appealed the youngsters to remain away from drugs.

‘People who are found consuming liquor on or near the roads will be strictly dealt with’, said SP, adding, ‘there is shortage of police force for traffic in the district and its becoming difficult to control the road accidents on Adiytapur-Kandra main road and several police jawans have been pressed into service at traffic’.
