Jamshedpur, June 4: Tata Steel organised a Green-a-thon at JRD Tata Sports Complex as part of the World Environment Day celebrations on Sunday, June 4.
Over 2000 participants including employees of Tata Steel and other citizens of Jamshedpur took part in the green run to spread awareness about environment and sustainability.
The run was flagged-off by Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel Utility and Infrastructure Services Limited along with Jitendra Prasad Singh, Regional Officer, Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, Jamshedpur at 6 in the morning.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 to spread awareness on issues related to the environment. Every year, the United Nations focusses on new themes to promote actions for protecting the environment. This year, the theme is #BeatPlasticPollution.
