Opposition seeks Government answer to development promise


    Ranchi: The opposition bench was altogether in a different mood in the assembly. The opposition made all attempts to create an air of discomfiture for the government while the discussion Governor’s address was on.

    Gauging the mood of the opposition the ruling party made it clear that the new government would leave no stone unturned to expedite the development process in the State.

    At the very beginning the assembly session MLA Saryu Roy proposed the vote of thanks on the Governor’s address. He said that government’s address had reflected the government’s determination to introduce a slew of development activities in Jharkhand. The governor’s address highlighted the direction on which the new government would proceed.

    “The government will take notice on balanced development of the State, vacant posts would be filled up, and there would be stern action against corruption. There would be no injustice in the name of race or religion. As of now only 30 percent of the budget has been utilized.

    Till September 2014 only 15 percent of the budgetary provision was utilized. It would be ensured in the coming days that the major segment of the fund provision is utilized in an expedited manner,” Saryu Roy said.

    Anant Ojha while supporting the vote of thanks said that the government would work on the principle of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas.

    He raised the issue of Bangladeshi infiltration at Sahebgunj and demanded that construction of bridge on the River Ganga. MLA Ramchandra Sahish, Birinchi Narayan, and Ramchandra Chandra Vanshi also supported the passing of vote of thanks and raised prominent issues of their respective constituencies.

    Sahish while asked for a survey of the BPL families, Chandra Vanshi demanded inclusion of Garwah and Daltongaunj in the list of smart cities. Dr Neera Yadav demand mobile clinic on national highway and deputation of women doctors at Koderma Sadar Hospital.

    Birinchi Narayan tried to bring to the notice of the speaker towards the problems of the displaced at Bokaro.
