Notorious criminal Krishna Gope arrested from Mango

Jamshedpur, July 11: Adityapur Police in the neighboring Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Monday arrested Krishna Gope, the main accused in Deepak Munda murder case, from Mango. The police have also recovered a pistol and a Pulsar motorbike from his possession.

According to information, Krishna Gope was hiding in Mango for the past few days and allegedly plotting the murder of heavyweight BJP leader Ganesh Mahali, who had contested the last Assembly elections on the party ticket. He was supposed to be in connection with the Guddu Pandit gang to execute his plans.

On receiving a tip-off, a team from Adityapur police led by officer in-charge Arbind Kumar raided Mango. Following several raids in different areas of Mango, the police were able to nab Krishna Gope. The raiding team included RIT police station in-charge Amarjeet Prasad and a section of armed policemen.

    Panic created by Krishna

Krishna has become synonymous with crime. A criminal with a notorious record, Krishna stepped into the crime world following the murder of Baroda Raju in 2006.

Following the murder of Raju, his wife was living under the protection of Deepak Gope. This led to a bitter hostility between Deepak Munda and Krishna Gope, as the latter believed that Deepak may murder him at the behest of Rajus widow.

Soon, Krishna was named in an FIR filed under the Arms Act. He came into the limelight in the world of crime on morning of March 30, when he openly killed Deepak Munda firing shots and hurling bombs at him.

Soon after the incident, Krishna became an absconder. A month after Deepak’s murder, Krishna shot at and wounded BJP leader Sujay Nandi at Adityapur Garden area.

Krishna’s next target was Ganesh Mahali, a former BJP candidate from the Seraikela Assembly constituency. In order to execute his plan, Krishna allegedly paid Rs. 20 lakh as supari (contract money) to an unidentified white collar criminal. According to the police, Krishna had ganged up with the Guddu Pandit group to execute the murder.

They allegedly planned to kill the BJP leader near the latter’s Kadma residence. However, there was no attempt on Mahali’s life as the police kept a tab on the issue.

If the police claims are to be true, they were hunting for Krishna Gope since the murder of Deepak Munda. However, he succeeded in hoodwinking the police and carried out an attack on Nandi.

According to police, Gope used to mislead the police by sending someone with his cell phone to some other direction than where he would be staying. This made tracking the criminal difficult.

However, this time, Gope failed to hoodwink the police, who succeeded in unearthing his nefarious plans to kill Mahali. They had laid a trap for Gope and today they were successful in arresting the much-wanted criminal.
