Noamundi/Jamshedpur, November 23: Mine-rich Noamundi in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand is expected to witness a huge footfall from across the country in the 4th edition of Tata Steel’s Noamundi Run-a-thon, which will be held on November 27 at the Noamundi Sports Complex.
The enthusiasm among the community and people residing in and around Noamundi is evident with more than 5000 registrations to participate in the mega run. The annual event has created a lot of buzz and has gained popularity especially among school and college students.
Sports enthusiasts from all age groups are excited to participate in the event, which is being organised after a gap of two years with theme- Building a Greener Tomorrow.
A team of professionals and experienced domain experts in the field of run events have been roped in to make this event a grand success. Besides, 200 volunteers will be deployed for all support and assistance during the event.
The run route will have all facilities like water, mobile toilets, dustbins, medical team, ambulance.
This year, the event is being held for categories like 10 K and 7 K run for men and women (15 years and above), 5 K run for boys and girls between 12 to 16 years and 2 K run for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The total prize money to be won in various categories is Rupees Five lakh Thirty Seven Thousand (Rs 5, 37, 000/-) only.
The run will kick-start from the Noamundi Sports Complex with the first race scheduled at 6 AM on November 27.
