No community Gangour immersion due to COVID conditions in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 7: The executive committee of Sakchi branch of Purvi Singhbhum Zila Marwari Sammelan at a meeting held on Wednesday at Sakchi Mahalakshmi Dadi Mandir urged the women of the community to abstain from community immersion of Isar Gaur – Shankar, Parvati scheduled for Thursday, April 8.

The Sakchi PSZMS unit instead asked women devotees to deposit all worship materials at the Thakurbari Temple on Thursday and the committee would arrange for their immersion. The women were also suggested to make water bodies within their houses and immerse the Gangour images and worship materials in them.

The Sakchi unit asked women devotees of the community to visit the Thakurbari Temple and perform all prayer rituals related to the Gangour Puja prior to immersion. However, masks and social distancing norms will be strictly implemented on the occasion.

The meeting was presided by PSZMS Sakchi branch president Mahabir Prasad Modi and conducted by general secretary Suresh Kumar Kauntia. Others present in the meeting included Santosh Agrawal, Sanwarmal Agrawal, Bholanath Chowdhary, Sushil Singhania, Ramesh Chandra Moonka, Sunny Sanghi, Amit Modi, Usha Chowdhary, Virendra Moonka, Sumit Agrawal, Vinit Modi, Mahendra Kauntia and Bablu Agrawal.
