210 companies select 549 students of 2018-22 UG batch

Jamshedpur, May 12: NIT Jamshedpur recorded 94.49 per cent placement of UG students in the academic year 2018-22.
Sources said a total of 549 students have been selected by 210 companies in offline and online mode. In all, 581 students had got registered for placement. The students received total 753 offers with the highest package being Rs 60 lakh per annum offered to Faiza Alam by Goldman Sachs, a UK-based finance company. Faiza is a resident of Jamshedpur.
The second highest package of Rs 56 lakh has been offered to a Computer Science student by a US-based company having its India headquarters in Bengaluru. The average offer to UG students is Rs 13.2 lakh per annum.
The PG students are in the final year of the academic session 2020-22. One MCA student has received an offer of Rs 45 lakh per annum. A total of 302 students had registered for placement. Out of them, 142 have been placed, sources said.
The PG students had got a total 190 offers. As many as 40 per cent students are doing internship. According to professor Anil Kumar Choudhary, this year many reputed companies have reposed their faith in our institute. The placements have gone up by 10 per cent.
According to Professor Karunesh Kumar Shukla, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, “Increased placement and arrival of well-known companies has increased our confidence. This is beneficial for the students. Our placement department, students and teachers deserve praise. I congratulate them for their bright future.”
This year’s NIT Jamshedpur campus was visited by Atlassian, Amazon, Tata Group companies, Bajaj, Microsoft, Jindal and Danzo, sources said.
