NIT �Culfest 2016� from today, Ehsaan Qureshi, to perform

Jamshedpur, Feb. 11: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, will be hosting annual cultural festival �Culfest 2016� from February 12 to 14.

This year, the festival will be painted in new colors. The theme of the Culfest this time is �Jashn-e-India� for which the preparations have almost been completed.

The entire college campus is seen in festive atmosphere. According to a press communiqu� issued by NIT, three-day fest will be held in different venues inside the college campus. The main stage (UPS Ground) will host several events staring from 8 a.m. till late evening. This time the organizers have given special attention to lighting and decoration for which a special team was formed.

Alumni of NIT Praveen Kumar Singh, who is also an IG (STF), along with his wife will be present as the chief guest of the fest on February 13. The press communication further stated that a rangoli competition will kick off the day at 8 a.m. the first day of the fest on Friday. In the distortion (Battle of Bands) event, 1983 batch alumni and founder of the rock band, Amit Kumar from USA and Anurag Saxena from London will perform.

The Culfest will also bring Hindi poetry to the masses where a ‘Kavi Sammelan’ has been scheduled, which promises to mesmerize the audience by the intoxicating rhythm and hymns. A mystical night with performances by famous Ehsaan Qureshi, Deepak Gupta, Rasik Gupta, Poonam Verma and Vishnu Saxena will be staged.

The second day of culfest will start with �Hindi debate� at 8 a.m. followed by poshak, mono acting, solo dance, and a treasure hunt to name a few. The attraction of the day will be the performance of DJ NYK from Mumbai. The event is slated to start at 8 p.m. and continue till late in the night.

Grooving to the desi and hip-hop beats DJ NYK promises to mesmerize the audiences with his renowned ‘Electronyk Show.’ With the aggression of metal and desi touch of Bollywood, the night is slated to be a delight.

The third and final day will start with �Hallabol� (a nukkad natak) from 8 a.m., followed by �Jashn-e-India� Quiz, poetry slam, bhangara etc. After the prize distribution, the band �Underground Authority� will start its performance on the main stage.

On the last day, Underground Authority, the famous rock band who have already won a million hearts will present a night that will tune the audience unanimously to the beats till their body is in resonance with the music.

NIT will also be focusing on the safety and security measurers during the three-day outing to keep away any untoward incident.

Deepak Chourasia, security officer, NIT, said, �We have made special safety arrangements at the campus during Culfest for which intensive investigation is being carried out.

CCTV cameras have been installed at the square and intersection to keep an eye of the anti social elements.� He added, �The event venues will be under CCTV cover and delta force has been set up with selected 50 students who will be present at different areas.�
