Seraikela: National Lok Adalat was organized at the Seraikela Civil Court on Saturday as per the directive of the Supreme Court.
It was inaugurated jointly by the deputy commissioner Ramesh Gholap, SP Rakesh Bansal and the Principal and Sessions Judge along with other judiciary officials.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the DC said that it was important to spread awareness among the people on Lok Adalats and their role in giving relief to the people. He said the Lok Adalats were proving very effective in reducing the burden of the judiciary by disposing pending cases.
Several cases were disposed during the Lok Adalat by several benches formed for the purpose by the District Legal Service Authority. Fines were also collected from defaulters on the occasion.
