Mutilated body of jeweller found, police suspect murder

Jamshedpur : The mutilated body of 27-year-old jeweller Santosh Kumar Verma, was found lying at a lone place known as Pakipani under Bodam police station area of Patamda on Friday. The body was later identified as that of the owner of Alankaar Jewellers of Mango.

Officer-in-charge, Bodam police station NK Mandal confirmed it to be a murder and said that they have recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.

“It is too early to comment as to what led to the murder. There was a missing report lodged with the Mango police station late last night, the Bodam police informed the Mango police which subsequently got the body identified,� he noted.
A resident of Dimna Road Santosh used to run his jewellery shop at Mango Chowk.

He was missing from his shop from yesterday evening, one of his friends, lodged a missing report with the Mango police station.

Sources informed that the police are scanning his cell phone so to find a clue related to the gruesome murder.
” As per our initial investigation there must be some strong reasons behind the act, but as of now we have not found out any clue to the assailant. The act seems like a revenge,� noted a police official.
