Mukhiya demands education reforms in state

Jadugoda, Sep 14: The Mukhiya of Matigora panchayat of East Singhbhum, Kartik Hembram, has demanded overall changes in the education system in the state. He said the government should review its current education system in government schools and improve the same for the better future of children.

Hembram raised the demand after visiting Borakantra Primary School in Musabani block on the occasion of Hindi Diwas and asked the students the name of their school. None of the children could tell the name of their school, Hembram said.

Hembram said the students were not found to have knowledge of Hindi language at all. It is disappointing to know that the government spends Rs 21,000 every month on two para teachers posted in this school and still the students do not know their subjects well. This should wake up the government and give it sufficient reasons to do something to change the situation for the better, said the Mukhiya.

Hembram said there were nine schools in Matigora panchayat. He said the students will be taken on excursion to Jamshedpur for exposure.
