Jamshedpur : The police are studying call details of the SIM-cards of the cell-phones which were confiscated during a raid at the MGM Medical College and Hospital’s prisoner’s ward late last night.

The cell phones belong to prisoner Amlesh Singh.
Elder brother of gangster Akhilesh Singh, Amlesh (33) is lodged at the medical college hospital’s prisoner ward. He is serving a sentence of life imprisonment as he was convicted in the Ashish Dey murder case.
A police team led by superintendent of police (city) Kartik S recovered four cell-phones, an extension cord and two cell-phone chargers from the prisoners ward at about 11 pm on Tuesday.

The police raided the prisoners’ ward following a tip off that Amlesh has more cell-phones and used to communicate to outer ward regularly.
Kartik today said they would register a case under Prisoner’s Act against Amlesh for smuggling the communication gadgets to the prisoners’ ward, something which is prohibited.
It is too early to comment about what has been motive behind the use of cell phones. We will scan the cells before reaching to a conclusion, he noted.
He pointed out that the policemen posted on the security duty at the prisoners’ ward would also prosecuted for allowing the cell-phones to be smuggled into the prisoners’ ward.
