Jamshedpur, Feb 16: A 24 year-old mentally challenged woman, Radha (name concealed), of Tadanga in Chakulia Nagar Panchayat has finally got her Aadhar card. Her Aadhar card was issued by the East Singhbhum district administration on the instructions of state health minister Banna Gupta.
Sources said the minister had asked the Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar to extend all possible assistance to the woman whose family members were running from pillar to post to get her Aadhar card issued. The DC asked Chakulia block officials to get Radha’s Aadhar registered at the local health centre. He shared the information in this regard on Twitter.
The DC said efforts were on to provide the benefits of various welfare schemes being run by the government to Radha and her family.
Sources said the 24 year old was a single woman with a six year old son. So far both persons have not received the benefits of any government scheme. Radha’s condition was brought to light after BJP leader Kunal Sarangi demanded government help for her. At present, the woman is compelled to live at a club house in Chakulia.
