Jamshedpur, Nov 27: The ultras belonging to the banned outfit CPI (Maoist) have suddenly increased activities in West Singhbhum and Seraikela districts. Sources informed that apart from wall painting and waging poster campaign to triggering blasts, the ultras have made their presence felt to the security forces involved in nailing the outfit. On Saturday too, the security forces recovered posters of Maoists near Kiriburu. The Maoists have introduced a big challenge in front of the police by announcing a 72 hour bandh.
Concerned over the naxals’ hysterical efforts to regain their hold, DIG, Kolhan, Aseem Vikrant Minz has asked his officers and para-military forces for conducting regular Long range patrolling (LRP) in those areas so that the rebels may not set their foot once again.
Sources said that recently the district police had nabbed a suspected rebel in West Singhbhum and during the interrogation the rebel revealed that they had a plan to set their foot in rural areas once again.
A CRPF-s VII battalion officer also shared the same opinion about the rise of rebels in the locations where they had their domination.
“We have intelligence input that the rebels from the bordering area of Bengal that rebels in sizeable number enter into Jharkhand and trying to hold meeting in the villages. The rebels are also picking up issues like dumping earth-movers for digging work and instead engaging manpower for the same,” said the officer.
The naxal outfit has also resorted to poster campaigning in support of the recruitment drive across the tribal-dominated district from Sarjamburu, located partially falling under Tonto police station area and partially falling under adjoining Goelkera police station area, which has presently turned into a new rebel-hotspot after Saranda was relieved of them to a greater extent. The outfit has also delivered letters to the village and block level naxal operatives for making the drive effectively successful.
Meanwhile, police and paramilitary forces have launched an intensified anti-insurgency operation recently after the outlawed outfit delivered letters to Mundas, Gram Pradhans and `Dakuas’ (village messengers) seeking their support for an aggressive recruitment drive of youngsters, including girls to join the outfit in West Singhbhum.
Maoists wage poster war at Saranda
Chaibasa/Manoharpur: Following bandh called by CPI-Maoist for three days on November 19 and again on November 23, 24 and 25, in protest against the arrest of one crore bounty Naxalite Prashant Bose alias Kishan Da, another rebel outfit has decided to celebrate its anniversary. The out will observe the closing ceremony of the two-decade anniversary of PLGA and the 21 anniversary starting from 2nd December to 8th December.
Eastern Regional Command CPI (Maoist) has made its presence felt in Saranda area by putting up banners and a large number of posters in Chhota Nagra and Kiriburu police station areas of West Singhbhum district. After putting up Naxalite banner posters in Saranda area, which has been quiet for a long time, once again an atmosphere of fear has been created among the people of the area. Naxalites have covered the posters from Chhotanagra Weekly Haat to Jharbeda of Chota Nagarathna area late last night.
