Jamshedpur, August: A man was arrested while threatening and trying to loot a postman Pramod Kumar with his gun at the post office situated in NML premises under Burmamines Police Station on Thursday, August 13.
Miscreant Ramkrishna Mahato was arrested by Jugsalai Traffic Officer Incharge along with Rajesh Kumar Pandey of Jugsalai, Navin Kumar Rajak and Simone Bhengra who were crossing the area and heard a man shouting and when they entered the post office they found Ramkrishna Mahato resident of Galudih with a gun in his hand.
After traffic inspectors entered the premises Mahato tried to flee the scene but was later arrested at Dispensary Road.
SSP Amol V Homkar said that the prompt action by the police officers made the culprit being arrested and they will be awarded letter of appreciation for their commendable job.
SSP said that police team recovered one country made pistol and two live bullets from his possession.
