Jamshedpur, May 5: The devastating carnage unleashed by TMC supported goons in West Bengal leading to loss of lives and property of BJP supporters and leaders has come in for severe protests from all saffron quarters and pensive and rational members of society who have been left agog by the prevailing violence.

Several BJP offices were set on fire immediately after the announcement of the Assembly poll results in the TMC ruled state of Bengal. many front ranking party leaders and activists have been killed or seriously injured by the activities of hooligans who enjoy the protection of Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress. The debauchery and inhuman activities of TMC backed goons have been such that BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda had to rush to Kolkata to evaluate the ghastly situation.

Taken aback by the reality of the prevailing fiery situation in Bengal, Nadda asked all party members nationwide to observe protest of the TMC supported carnage. In Jamshedpur as elsewhere, party leaders and supporters sat on protest at their own homes in view of the prevailing COVID pandemic protocols that prevented them from taking to the streets en masse.

In order to maintain physical distancing, district committee officials at all levels took to in house sit in protest mode. Some leaders held placards and posters decrying the destructive fire fanned by the TMC victory in Bengal. almost everybody demanded immediate implementation of President’s Rule in the state of West Bengal or deploying the army to bring the destructive situation prevailing in the state.

Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar has warned Mamata Banerjee to bring the mayhem in the state under control or else be prepared to face the consequences. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held telephonic discussions with the West Bengal Governor and was appraised of the prevailing situation in the state.

Among the leaders who sat on protest at their homes included former Jharkhand Chief minister Raghubar Das, parliamentarian Bidyut Baran Mahto, former legislator Menka Sardar, senior BJP leader Dr Dineshanand Goswami, Subodh Jha, Jharkhand Pradesh BJP secretary Rita Mishra, Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Gunjan Yadav, former Mahanagar president Dinesh Kumar, party’s district general secretary Anil Modi, BJYM state media in-charge Krishna Sharma Kali and others. They were unanimous on the observation, “Mamata Banerjee is trying to hijack democracy on goon-power.”

The BJP leaders said, “It is under Mamata Banerjee’s directives and TMC’s protection that the goons are creating a state of panic in West Bengal. We strongly protest the manner in which Mamata has unleashed her vengeance against our party leaders and workers who are either being murdered by her goons or being severely injured.”

Raghubar Das stated, “I want to assure my party folks in West Bengal that the entire BJP family is standing by them. We too know how to repay them in their own coins. I am warning West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to put an immediate halt to the violence that is rocking West Bengal and follow the tenets of democracy. We demand immediate action against the perpetrators of heinous crimes.”

BJP leaders said that the violence being propagated under the protection of the TMC government did not auger well for the coming days. They said that with the people’s mandate in her party’s favour, the West Bengal Chief Minster should devise ways to protect the people from the deadly COVID infection instead of creating a reign of terror in Bengal.
