Hospital introduces Coblation technology

Jamshedpur, Oct 27: Continuing medical education is central to clinical practice and patient care. Lifelong learning activities allow medical professionals to stay updated on the most recent trends and findings in Coblation technology, develop their skills, and enhance health promotion methods.

Coblation Workshop & Live surgical Demonstration conference on 27th October 2013 at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) provided a unique platform for several practitioners to stay abreast of latest developments in Coblation technology.

It was conducted by Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva, Director-ENT, Max Healthcare, NewDelhi who has mastered the use of coblator. It was conducted at TMH where it was transmitted live from the operation theatre to the audiovisual room.

The surgery was performed on a 4 year old girl Srishti who is suffering from breathing problems. Several doctors along with the parents of the 4 year old were present and were seeing the operation live at the audio visual room.

Talking to The Avenue Mail, worried father of Srishti told that she has been suffering from breathing and snoring problem since she was one and a half years old. We are hoping that the operation is successful and my child is ever healthy, said her mother.

Earlier the program was inaugurated by Dr. T.P. Madhusudanan General Manager (Medical Services). Speaking on the occasion Dr Sanjay Sachdeva said ďAdvances in diagnosis and treatment of ENT disorders are complex and ever changing, with new research, clinical trials, techniques, and treatments arriving on the scene daily.

These advances pose challenges to practitioners to stay abreast of the information and interpret its impact on clinical practices. Through this Live Surgical Demonstration practitioners and surgeons can gain the necessary knowledge that will, in turn, improve the quality of patient care in Coblation technology.Ē

The conference provided update and trends in the developments in technology and treatment protocols that can be advised, adhered to ensure better quality of life for patients undergoing coblation surgery.

The latest techniques will avoid long hospital stay, provide better treatment outcomes and will help to regain a normal life faster to the patients, added Dr. Sachdeva.

Dr. KP Dubey (HOD) ENT at Tata Main Hospital said that the Coblation technology is just three years old and this is the first time it has been introduced in TMH.

At the event Dr. T Mukherjee, Dr. Ajay Gupta, Dr. Binayak Barua, Dr. TP Samarth, Dr. Alok Kumar, Dr. G Ramdas, Dr. Hansraj from Tinplate and several others were present.
