Leopard cubs sneak at Tata Zoo

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Two leopard cubs Albatross and Satya both six years of age both offspring of female leopard Sheeba while playing in their closed kraal today afternoon gnawed the chain link fence and broke open few strands creating a small opening on top of the kraal.

From the opening one of the cubs came out of the enclosure. Seeing him coming out, the other leopard cub also followed suit and started moving on top of the enclosure.

Immediately the security guard intimated and soon a team comprising of Dr. M. Palit, Seema Rani, Sushen Mahato, S. K.Singh, R.Srinivas, T. Ram and Bijoy Mukhi went to the spot with capture nets. The cubs were immediately captured and put back into their feeding cells.

Action to repair the kraal is underway and till such time the same is not done, animals will be exhibited from the main exhibit area.
