Chakulia, Jan 19: Kharagpur Rail Division’s DRM Manoranjan Pradhan and CRS Shubhamay Mitra inspected the under-construction railway third line in Chakulia on Wednesday. On reaching Chakulia, the two senior rail officials walked along the rail tracks between Chakulia station and the rail crossing to inspect the third line construction work.
During their checking, the villagers submitted a memorandum to DRM Manoranjan Pradhan demanding construction of a road between Kokpara and Gonedih in Muturkham village under the South Eastern Railway’s Kharagpur Rail Division.
The villagers mentioned in the memorandum that they had been deprived of road connectivity through years and with a population of more than 1,500, they had to face countless problems for commuting. They pointed out that the laying of the third line and construction of an under bridge had compounded their problems. They cited that vehicles could not reach the village even during emergent situations like pregnant women could not be taken for timely medical assistance. The villagers stated that road provision was a must to ease the problems they were facing since time immemorial.
The DRM assured the villagers that an initiative would be taken on this score soon.
BJP leader Partho Mahto, Chandan Mahto, and others were present on the occasion.
