Kenistan stars again as Railways thrash Sikkim 5-1 in Santosh Trophy

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: Two field goals from Kenistan C helped�maintained their winning streak as they thrashed Sikkim 5-1 during the Santosh Trophy match at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Sunday.

Sushil Kisku of Railways opened the account in the 16th minute with a brilliant field goal and he made the score 2-0 by anetting a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. Dawa Lepcha netted one back for the Sikkim in the 44th minute.

After thrashing�Chhattisgarh�4-1 in their previous tie, Railways defeated�Sikkim�5-1 after dominating the proceedings throughout the match in the Group B encounter. �

Sushil Kisku scored a brace — first at the 16th minute and then converted a penalty five minutes later, while his team-mate Kenistan C also struck twice in 72nd and 79th minutes. Charlesnand Ral netted the last goal in the 74th minutes.�

Sikkim scored a consolation goal when Dawa Lepcha converted a penalty in the 44th minutes.�

Seven yellow cards were served in the match including four to the Northeast team.�

Railways were now on the top of the chart with six points from two outings.�

In another match played at Gopal maidan, Odisha defeated Chhattisgarh 3-0 were they exhibited good combination and passing skills.

Odisha after drawing the first game against Sikkim 1-1 showed their good form in the second match. Antarjami Naik was the hero for the odisha as he netted two goals for his side in 54th and 68th minute.

Earlier Surendra Soren scored the first goal for odisha by netting in the 30th minute of the match.
