Kadma OC accused of high-handedness, complaint to SSP

Jamshedpur: The officer in-charge of Kadma police station Jitendra Thakur allegedly beat up a Telco resident Manish Kumar Singh and his friends late Wednesday night on their way home. He was reportedly in an inebriated condition, sources said.

Sources said Manish and his friends were returning home after attending their friend�s baraat around 1.30 am when a police patrol team caught them and detained them at the police station. Around 2.30 am, Thakur came to the police station and beat up the alleged victims after abusing them. Later, Manish was taken to MGM Hospital for treatment.

In view of the incident, Youth Congress leaders reached Kadma PS and demanded action against Jitendra Thakur. State Youth Congress secretary Rakesh Sahu sought sacking of Thakur and other cops who allegedly beat up the youths. A delegation of Youth Congress leaders also met SSP Anoop Birtharay and sought action against the errant cops.

Those present during the meeting included Jyotish Yadav, Sanatan Bhagat, Sushil Tiwary, Rohan Awasthi, Krishna Thakur, Nandu Sarkar, Bunty Singh Rajput, Sonu Singh and Bijendra Sahu.
