Jamshedpur, June 4: The Jugsalai Municipal Council (JMC) under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 has set up a permanent RRR center at its office and another at MRF Centre in Khasmahal under ‘Meri Life Mera Swachh Shahar Abhiyan.’
The offices were set up with the purpose for citizens to deposit their old usable items like books, clothes, toys, furniture, utensils, electronic items, plastic material, shoes and items that they had no use for at home. These items could be distributed among persons who had need for such items but lacked the financial resources. These deposited or donated items could be cast under the 3R motive – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and delivered to the needy. To add a push to the 3R drive, a door-to-door public awareness campaign was through students in various wards, RWAs and coaching institutes. The campaign was headed by JMC’s SWM expert Amrita Sakshi and Sanitation Department’s Chandralata Jain as per the directives of JMC’s Executive Officer Tarneesh Hans.
