JNAC to start door-to-door waste collection from April 15

Jamshedpur: Solid waste disposal practices in the city are set to change from 15th April onwards with the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee planning door-to-door collection of garbage.

According to Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer of JNAC, all shop owners will have to keep double dustbins in their establishments. Every day, JNAC staff would come and collect the garbage from each and every shop. This system would start working in Kadma, Sakchi and Bistupur markets simultaneously. The dustbins kept at marketplaces would be utilized by the public and not the shop keepers and vendors.

Kumar held a meeting with the JNAC officials and various other stakeholders on Tuesday and ordered implementation of the new system of solid waste disposal from the stipulated day.
