Jamshedpur, Aug. 3: Local urban civic body – Jamshedpur Notifieid Area Committee (JNAC) has asked building owners to submit applications seeking regularisation of the deviated buildings. The civic body has set August 15 deadline for receiving the application from the interested parties, wanting regularisation.
Revealing about the move, an official of JNAC said they have given chance to realtors for submitting application for getting their buildings regularised.
“As per the applications they will be forwarded to the state urban development department for necessary action,” said Kumar. They have to pay a penalty for regularizing the deviated portion of the building.
In localities like Sakchi, Bistupur, Sonari, Kagalnagar, Baradwari, Golmuri and Sitaramdera, where the builders have set up multi-storeyed building by violating the Jharkhand building bylaws.
An official said the promoters will be given enough opportunity to prove his side and if the reply is not satisfactory, then the civic body will be compelled to demolish the portion built in deviation of the approved plan.
“We have decided to adhere strictly to the line of action against the buildings built in deviation of the approaved plan. Several buildings which had been earlier sealed for not following the approaved plan stand to face the puitive measure. As we do not have the specail equipment to raze the additional floor of a deviated building, we have requisitioned for such equipments,” the officer mentioned.
According to the sources, the JNAC has a long list of such buildings which have been built in deviation of the actual building plan. The process of sealing these buildings in areas like Bistupur, Sakchi, Sonari, Sitaramdera, and the process of getting such building demolished will be followed once the necessary equipment is made available to the civic body.
One of the promoters at the SNP Area said that the civic body did not say anything about the deviation in construction, but suddenly appeared before the mbuilding and sealed up it.
“Had the civic body raised objection while the building was in construction stage. But sealing of the building after the construction work is complete is not justified. We will move to court for bringing a stay order against any harsh action,” said a promoter, on condition of anonymity.
He , however, maintained that the JNAC is facing an acute staff crunch, due to which the under-constructed buildings cannot be monitored regularly.
