Jharkhands rich culture, tradition to be showcased at Surajkund Mela


    Jamshedpur, Dec. 30: Distinguished folk artists of Kolhan will be showcasing their talent during a slew of cultural events going to be organized during the famous Surajkund Mela in Faridabad, Haryana.

    Jharkhand has been selected as the theme state for the renowned fair which will be organized in NCR from 1st February to 15th February. At the fair, art and culture of Jharkhand along with various folk genres will be showcased.

    In view of the forthcoming event, the Culture Directorate of Jharkhand government organized a host of competitive events to select outstanding cultural artists for participation in the fair.

    On the last day of the ongoing audition, three different cultural groups gave auditions at district public relation office on Friday.

    Auditions for Firkal, Ho and Bhumij dance was held on Friday.

    The event was presided over by the Kolhan Kala Kendra director Usha Mishra. On The occasion DPRO Sanjay Kumar said, till date 14 cultural groups have given auditions.

    They will be given ranking on their performance and will be sent to Ranchi.
